For both interiors and exteriors: A great way for you to prep is to Provide access to the areas we’ll be painting, including hallways and stairwells that get us there. Arrange for children and pets to not be in the way during the painting process. It helps ensure the safety and efficiency of the painters. We will protect your property from paint as best as possible by taping off and covering what you can’t move. For interiors: Help by clearing wall hangings, curtains, and blinds emptying cabinets and shelves and possibly removing them. HSMS will cover large furniture and fixtures that can’t be moved, including switches, and outlets.  lay down drop cloths to protect your floors. You may prefer to remove valuable rugs or carpets yourself, but we're happy to assist if needed. For exteriors: You can help prep by Removing patio furniture, grills, and other outdoor furniture from the painting area. Cutting back your greenery that’s currently touching your exterior walls to protect it from paint. Mowing your lawn around the house to make it easier for painters to set up ladders and other equipment. Taking down any removable items attached to the exterior walls, such as shutters, house numbers, mailboxes, and light fixtures. HSMS will cover plants and shrubs near the painting area to protect them from overspray. protect outdoor light fixtures, electrical outlets, and other fixtures that can't be removed. mask windows and doors with painter's tape and plastic to ensure the paint doesn’t get on glass and hardware.

We take meticulous care to protect your belongings during the home painting process. This includes: Draping and masking: We use drop cloths to cover floors and masking materials to protect trim, hardware, and other surfaces not being painted. Furniture moving: We will move furniture out of the room if possible. For large furniture that cannot be moved, we will carefully drape and secure it with plastic sheeting. Cleaning up: After the painting is complete, we will thoroughly clean the work area and remove all drop cloths and masking materials.
